It’s true…

VisionThis past week sure was a quick one…it’s true.  I guess learning so much everyday makes the week go by extremely fast.

I taught my first lesson for my Elementary Education Methods class about the food pyramid!  I teamed up with three other people and spent about two hours teaching third graders.  It was amazing!!! We actually had them pretend to be different types of food and they had to place themselves in the food pyramid.  I mean, who would not want to be a fruit.  We even started our lesson with a song/rap about the five food groups.  I think they really enjoyed it.  It was challenging, however extremely beneficial.  It is amazing to to see the excitement come over the student’s faces and see their understanding form.  It makes everything worth it. Music Scholarship Look Out…

chill.jpgWow! I can hardly remember last week because it went by so fast.

Not only did I have all of my classes to stay on top of, but I was in the process of organizing around 300 people to host music scholarship students or be hosted.

This was possibly the biggest project that I have ever taken on. It may not seem like finding hosts for close to 200 people and matching them up by vocalists with vocalist, instrumentalist with instrumentalists even down to individual instruments would be very hard, but it took a lot of concentration and a lot paying attention to details.

Anyway, the whole process went off without any major problems, and I really hope that everybody enjoyed their stay at Concordia. It was also very nice to talk with some of the music scholarship participants/parents, answer questions, and just be real with them. (more…)

First Few Weeks of 2007

Spanish SnowIt’s almost been a month since I’ve been back here at Concordia.  So far this semester has been awesome.  I always think that the beginning of a new semester is so exciting, since you don’t really know what to expect.  Oh, the new professors, new classrooms and new people to meet in your classes.
