New experiences…
My name is Preeti.
I bet you’re wondering ‘what kind of a name is that?’ Well it is an Indian (asian) name.
This is my very first blog and I am very excited.
I get anxious about a lot of stuff but was really nervous about my second semester at Concordia. But so far it has been wonderful… My life has been full of getting used to new places and making new friends. Neither of my parents has ever been missionaries or in the navy but they have managed to move our family quite a few times. I lived in Delhi, India for about seven years, then moved to Chennai, South India and stayed there for eight years. Later I moved to a little town in the southern tip of India.
Guess where my parents decided to move me next?? To the one and only Moorhead, Minnesota. I guess the reason why my parents decided to move here was because my uncle has lived here for about thirty five years…
I have lived here only for two years now and to me it is ‘home’. I went to Moorhead high school for two years and now I am a proud freshman at Concordia.
Talking about my new experiences, Concordia has by far been the best because I feel like I fit right in. Its about this time last year that I was starting to think about college and I am sure that many of you are in that similar situation right now.
Believe me I know what it feels like to be anxious about gettting used to new places and to make new friends. I am not going to say that this is going to be an easy transition in your life but for me the Concordia Orientation Committee made it a lot easier.
My goal with this blog is to keep you informed about the various fun events that happen on campus and the all the fun stuff that I get to do besides attending classes for about 9 hours a day(exageration)! You know what I like to do for fun?? Homework…(just kidding). Although there are times when doing homework makes you feel happy because you know you have one less thing to worry about. YAY!!
Oh and I almost forgot I went bowling last night with a bunch of people that I met on the first day of school and that was quite the “experience”.
