Univision, masked light?

For being the week before “Comedy of Errorrs” opens, it sure hasn’t been busy. The biggest thing that has happened this past week is that Concordia’s cable now receives a Spanish channel called “Univision.” Monday as I walked to Spanish class there were posters everywhere announcing the new station. After I arrived back at my dorm room I had to turn on the television to see how great it was. It was amazing! Ever since, I keep changing the channel to Univision hoping that by listening and watching it, my Spanish will become better.Another fun thing about this week has been working on the masks for nine of the characters from the play. Although last week I started making the real part of the masks, this week I get to paint them. I have one finished with the paint. Hopefully, Saturday every mask will be completely finished, hair and all.

I also had a real big group project due today. The assignment was for our lighting design class in the theatre. We were supposed to pick one of four scenes and design the lighting for it. Then today we showed the rest of the class and they were supposed to guess which one we were doing. The whole class only touched two of the four scenes, but I still learned a lot. I can’t wait until our next main stage project.

Since this week has been pretty tame, I have high expectations for next week. Comedy of Errorrs starts next Thursday evening and will run until Sunday afternoon. Some people might not come because it’s a Shakespeare play, and they’re afraid that they will not understand it. The cast’s main focus is to make sure that everyone who comes to see it will understand it. The costumes are awesome, the set is amazing and the acting will be awakening.
