Orientation time!
The weeks are flying by so fast, I can hardly believe it. There is only about a month left of my freshman year of college! I can’t decide whether or not it seems like a day ago, or a lifetime ago.
It really hit me today when I checked the calendar; time is passing by, and I am glad I am making the most of it. I have really reestablished my footing here since I’ve decided to graduate in three years and what I want to major in.
Since last week, my future plans have started to become present tasks. I had my first meeting as an Orientation leader this past weekend. It was so much fun. Also, I’ve been working with my parents to plan all of my dream study abroad trips. Life is pretty grand right now!
First off, being an Orientation leader is so awesome. An Orientation leader is an upper class student who guides new freshmen around campus and serves as a role model.
It is a hard position to get and I am so lucky and grateful that I got it. The coolest thing about this group of people is that they are all so excited about Concordia and absolutely in love with the school!
It is like a non-stop spirit competition! In the picture, my Orientation co-leader Kera and I play secret agent in the shrubbery! Plus, we played capture the flag with the campus as our field!!! It was the definition of fantastic!
Besides my fun times with Orientation, I’ve also been planning some study abroad trips. Concordia is incredibly well known for its study abroad programs, so I figure it is time to take advantage of it.
This summer I am going to go to Spain to live for about 2 or 3 weeks and when I finish a paper or two about the experience, I get a full Spanish credit. How awesome is that, Concordia let’s you build your own study abroad opportunities.
Also, it was just announced that in 2008 there will be a May Seminar going to Athens, Rome, Madrid, Dublin, and London for Communications majors; that means me! I’m on cloud nine! Now all that is left is getting that pesky passport!
