The Easter bunny is covered in snow…
As I walked out of my apartment Tuesday morning I was greeted with a dumping of snow. After I shoveled out my car I headed to school for the day. Back in the winter wonderland I suppose. We got about six inches overnight and it continued to snow lightly throughout the day. I think the Easter bunny may have gotten buried the snow this year.
Although snow is not unusual for this time of year, I think we reached a point of thinking that there would not be any more. Two weeks ago it was sunny and 65 degrees. I was outside in shorts and a T-shirt. That is what we get for living in Minnesota. Well, the good thing is that spring is still right around the corner.
To get students’ perspectives of the snow in April, I thought I would interview a few people and put their responses on the blog. This is my first attempt at “podcasting” so hang in there. Listen to what Cobbers have to say about the recent snowfall.
A good sign of spring is the start of the baseball season. The Minnesota Twins opened their season at home on Monday night against the Baltimore Orioles. We had a few friends over to the apartment to watch the game. We grilled some hot dogs and bratwurst on my little George Foreman grill. Baseball games are even more fun to watch with friends. The Twins won their first three games so far this season. I am planning to go to a game against the Yankees over Easter break.
Speaking of break, I think Easter break is one of the best and most needed breaks of the school year. Sure, there are no trips to go on (like Habitat for Humanity trips), but the break is at the time of year when you need to rest. In addition, Easter is always a good time to reflect on and remember what Easter is all about. Happy Easter everyone!
