New Show at the Museum

Sunday was the last day to view the Art of China and Japan exhibition at the museum in the main gallery.

Since it was such a successful show we have decided to keep it up. So instead of taking it down for good, we’re moving it upstairs. This has been quite the adventure.

It began with getting the room ready for the exhibition. In the room was art from two of our past shows, Brad Bachmier pottery and African Art.

However, we also wanted this art to be still on exhibition as well, which meant we needed to find a new spot for it all.

Then we went to one of our storage rooms and cleaned that out. Then we repainted it all and replaced the glass. After two weeks of the remodeling, we were finally able to move the African art. Then we put the pottery downstairs in the main lobby.

While doing this we were also moving the Art of China and Japan up stairs.

So we’ve only had a week to move the entire show up stairs, move those shows elsewhere and reorganized the entire museum. As our week gets closer to the preview tomorrow night for John Postovit’s exhibition, our boss becomes increasingly worried that it won’t be completed in time.

I’m sure it will be because it always seems to happen.

John Postovit’s exhibition is up and will open tomorrow afternoon and will be up until the middle of May.
