ConcertI honestly can say that Shane and Shane are able to put on one of best concerts ever!!! They make it energetic, they make it relaxing, and they make it worshipful, what more could you ask for?

Last year, probably about the same time, Shane Bernard and Shane Everett came to the Fargo Theatre and they put on an amazing concert.  I was so privileged to be on the street team for them last year, which meant that I went around to the tri-colleges in our area (NDSU, MSU, Concordia) and advertised for their concert.  In return, we were able to go backstage and meet them after the show.  (more…)

winter's gone, summer's here!School is almost out and the weather has been absolutely gorgeous for more than three days in a row this time! What could make the end of the year even better? (more…)

Worship Band Extraordinaire

Kari Pearson, Shane Garrahan, Dan Tinquist, Justin Shobe, Kelly Nervick (me), Megan Luebke, and Steph Anderson compose Flock – worship band extraordinaire. Ok, well…extraordinaire might be pushing it a little, but then again maybe not. Flock is the worship band on campus that Dan and I co-lead, and have an absolute blast with! Dan, Shane, Justin, and myself began playing in the fall of 2005, and this year added Kari, Megan, and Steph – the 3 best additions that any band could ask for. Without a doubt, we have had an incredible year musically, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.

We’ve had the opportunity not just to play at Sunday Night @ East (Sunday on-campus worship), but we’ve traveled to Montevideo and Fargo, and have played at chapel and communion as well. We’ve learned a ton of new music, touched up old music, and even have learned and played some music from our very own Dan Tinquist. But we don’t just see each other on Mondays at practice or Sundays when we play. (more…)

Photographapalooza

Photography…we do a lot of it! I’m not so sure about other countries (since I haven’t been anywhere besides Mexico), but I know that we take a lot of photos in America.

Well, I am one of those people. But as much as I love taking really random pics of things, what I love most are the artsy fartsy type of photos.

This past summer I borrowed my brothers really nice camera and headed up to Grand Junction, CO to do a photo shoot with Nails Stained Red (the band I manage…remember?). I used about 8 rolls of film!

Anyway, during that time, I decided that photography was one of my new favorite things to do. This semester, with my new digital camera in hand, I have become a picture maniac. I sometimes spend a good 30 min trying to get the one perfect picture of whatever catches my eye.

I also love playing with all the ridiculously cool settings on my camera. (more…)

Twins gameThe only thing that could have been more disappointing about last night’s Twins game was if we were sitting outside. It was cold out and sitting outside would have been miserable.

Lucky for us we were inside the giant bubble called the Metrodome. In a few years the Twins will play baseball outside, like the game is supposed to be played.

I am excited for the new stadium, but on freezing cold nights when we are losing to the Yankees, I don’t mind being inside.

Easter break was great! I was able to catch up on sleep. One night I slept almost 11 hours! I have not done that in a long time. I was able to hang out with the family and my brother.

Church was really good on Easter Sunday and then we had a great lunch over at my Grandparents’ house. Monday was a fun day too. I went to lunch with some friends and then a bunch of people from school went to the Twins game. (more…)
