~Pulling off an all-nighter is hard work~
I was wondering this weekend about what I should do that an average college student would do on a Saturday night. I didn’t really have anything planned so I was up for anything new. Watching movies is usually the one thing that I enjoy doing on
weekends and so do other people. So I went and watched ‘Evan Almigty’. I have to say it sure was a good movie. I also watched ‘Disturbia’ with a few friends and it was not a scary movie whatsoever. From what I recall, there were a lot of people giggling and laughing and there was an absolute lack of screams or squeals.
Believe it or not, I have not managed to pull an all nighter yet. So few of my friends were determined to see how long I would remain awake when I had no good reason to stay up. I usually sleep pretty early and I am never sleepy or tired in class or at work the following day. I always get homework done ahead of time that way I am not forced to stay up late. Most of the people I know like to sleep late and sleep in the next morning (irrespective of the fact that they have class or not). To me homework has never been important enough to stay up and work on.
Last Saturday, we made some food, went bowling at 10:30pm watched ‘Blood Diamond’ and then stayed up forcibly until 4:30 am. Surprisingly I was just fine the next morning. I had to convince my friends that there was no good reason why I should stay
up until six and then go sleep, because I had to go to church on Sunday! I couldn’t sleep past 8:30 on Sunday and unbelievably I didn’t feel tired. Now I know that if I did have to go through a night without sleep that I can do it. But will I put myself in that position? Probably not.
I don’t quite understand the argument about how staying up can be fun. You can always have fun in the morning when there’s a lot of sunshine too! I’m probably one of the few people that sleep early but now I know that I am not the only one.
