“like fitting a watermelon into a tube sock…”

Well it seems that the start of school/my birthday is sneaking up on us again, and its time to savor the last of my summer. I have been keeping busy working at the Raceway for a weekend and also at my job at the restaurant (Poncho and Lefty’s). At work they finally wrote those monumental words: “save boxes for MK” which means that someone, this time myself, is leaving their current location for newer and hopefully better places. I have also stocked up on rubbermaids galore and out of all my friends that are leaving I’m finding it hard to believe that I am the only one that has started packing. Its amazing watching all the stuff I have collected over the past year, let alone the past 19 years. In my opinion target is a lifesaver, and my mother should only be allowed to go there once a month.

Back to school shopping has a whole new meaning to me because it now includes buying in bulk daily items that I would rather have extra of than have to buy elsewhere or borrow from someone until I go home. Also having heard the usual rumors and stories from other students that have lived in dorms there is always that fear in the back of my mind about fitting all my stuff in the dorm as well as a roomates stuff into one tiny room.

In the end, I’m excited to get to campus and see how everything will come together. I imagine there will be a few moments of chaos and far too many crying parents, but that big step in life should be well worth it. I can’t wait to meet everyone, and start this new experience.
