Winter is here and so is Christmas!
The last couple of weeks have been really busy. I have written three papers, worked on a biology research presentation and studied for multiple tests and quizzes. Next week is also going to be very hectic because of final exams.
I am actually pretty prepared, it seems, to take finals this semester. I have been studying, doing all of my homework and paying attention in class. And all of this adds up to being prepared for exams!
Trust me, its true. I have two finals on Thursday and one on Wednesday and then I am done! Done with homework, papers, assigned reading and all other academics related stuff. My professor asked us if we could see the light at the end of the tunnel, I can honestly say, “yes I do see the light”.
I don’t know if you guys are enjoying the snow or not but I am definitely enjoying it. I don’t like having to drive to school but Moorhead looks so much better without the brown colored grass.
Also snow represents such a huge part of the Christmas festivities at Moorhead and especially at Concordia. Last year we had a brown Christmas which was very depressing. You can definitely tell that Christmas is around the corner on campus because of all the decked out dorm doors, the festive book store and all the administrative offices have also been decorated this year!
Last we had an event called Christmas at Concordia. It was put together by various groups and organizations. I worked at the cookie decorating station and stood outside for about a half hour (realized that if I stood outside any longer I would have to amputate my fingers)! It was fun watching the kids decorate cookies with a whole lot of frosting and spreading it around with their fingers. It was also the first time that I got to decorate my own cookie. I do learn great things at Concordia other than academics. We had a Polaroid photo station; arts and crafts and a market place where Christmas related goodies were on sale! The best part of it all was that I got to take a picture with Kernel (our mascot).
We have a Christmas party tomorrow night organized by the Intercultural affairs and then on Saturday I am going to be helping out at a carnival for foster kids. I also have our dress rehearsals for our kindergarten Christmas program on Sunday. This weekend is going to be all about Christmas and of course homework and studying.
