No More Snow Please…A Little More Sanity

Finally the sun came out and so did my flip flops. As the sun continued to shine throughout the week, my winter coat and shoes were buried farther and farther into the closet. Because the sun was shining I felt that I was close to the end, and that even though I had quite the load on my plate, I would make it to graduation. Unfortunately I looked at the weather forecast for Sunday and was disappointed to see snow in our future. Well Sunday morning rolled around and I was pleased to see only a dusting of snow on the ground and no frost to scrape off of the window. I headed off to Salem Evangelical Free Church in Fargo, where I intern, with a smile on my face and Starbucks in my car’s cup holder. About 8:45 am rolled around and I went out from the sanctuary to get a drink of water before the service began. My smile was quickly wiped off my cheerful face as I looked out in horror at the giant snowflakes pouring down from the bleak, gray sky. I turned my thoughts and body back to the sanctuary to pick up my guitar and begin the first service. After the second service, the snow was still whipping around in the air with the help of the classic Fargo wind. 2:00pm…still snowing. 7:00pm…Still Snowing. 9:00pm….STILL SNOWING!!! Finally around 10:00pm the snow stopped and a thick blanket of snow covered the Fargo/Moorhead Area. Grrr! This snow storm was about to drive me insane! Although the sparkling white snow was rather pretty, it only made me feel as though it was January and I still had months and months left of school and homework piling up on me. This snow storm was about to drive me insane!Thankfully I awoke to a slight glimmer of sunshine streaming through my window on Monday morning and I realized that the snow would not be around for much longer, which quickly lifted my spirits and gave me hope for the rest of spring. And indeed, by today the snow was almost completely gone save for a few dirty clumps of snow hiding in the shade of a tall pine tree. Come, Spring, Come (and bring my sanity back please)!
