Homework

img_0408.JPG“No, I have to do homework.” Those are words that I have been saying a lot lately.

It’s been used in multiple situations, like: “Hey Jake lets play Frisbee!” and I respond with, “No, I have to do homework.”

“Hey Jake let’s play some Call of Duty” and I would respond with, “No, I have Homework.”

“Hey Jake want to hit some golf balls?” and you guessed it “No, I have Homework?” I think the reason that this is really wearing me down right now is that spring has sprung in the Red River Valley (I’m not scared to be cliché). Right now, while I’m inside Lorentzen Hall, it is exactly 67 degrees outside, and yesterday the golf courses opened in Moorhead. Tonight, I’m so lucky that instead of ripping up the links, I’m going to be tucked inside Carl B. (our library) studying.

{Tangent warning} So at the beginning of this year I was talking to a girl that I had a little bit of an interest in, and asked her what she was up to tonight. She told me that she was going on a date with Carl B., and I was a little crushed, and confused, who was this Carl B.? Well, later that night I was searching Carl B. on Facebook trying to see who this chump was, when one of my friends asked what I was doing. I told him my situation and he started laughing harder than I have ever seen him laugh. Then he reminded me about the name of the library, and I felt really stupid.{End of Tangent}

Anyway, along with the end of the year comes the crazy piles of homework and tests. But this semester is a little different from the end of the fall semester, when everything was cold and miserable outside, and the library was nice and warm. I think the way I perceive the library has changed with the weather, because instead of nice and warm, now it is muggy and cramped. I’m writing this for every college kid who is in the same boat that I find myself in come finals time. I am also writing this to inspire all those soon to be Cobbers to not let senioritis set in too hard, because if you can deal with it as a senior in high school you should be able to deal with it when you’re in college.
